Discover GPU optimization techniques using Intel® hardware and Intel® Developer Cloud.

Using available computer hardware capabilities effectively is the key to developing performant software applications. This workshop teaches effective methods to structure code that maximizes the capabilities of the hardware to efficiently execute it.

Hosted on Intel® Developer Cloud (IDC) with access to 4th Generation Intel® Xeon Scalable processors and Intel® Data Center GPU Max 1100, this workshop highlights GPU optimization techniques. Geared to intermediate and expert programmers, the session focuses on ensuring compute resources are fully utilized when accessing different GPU architectures.

The session covers:

  • Accessing Intel® GPUs using IDC
  • Determining the appropriate sizes for workgroups, subgroups, and shared local memory to maximize the occupancy of GPU resources
  • Learning about SYCL kernel launching and profiling
  • Demonstrating the impact of varying workgroup sizes and shared local memory resources for GPU operations Examples using hands-on coding in SYCL clarify the points made

Hands-on demonstrations of these techniques require an IDC account. If you don’t have one, get one here.

Attend this workshop to sharpen your understanding of optimal GPU use and improve your programming skills on the latest Intel® hardware.
